Relaxation Time and Positive Energy with Tibetan Singing Bowls

Rest and recovery are just as important as a fitness workout, and they may become even more important as you age. One of the ways I relax and recover is through sound healing. Over the past few months, I have been experimenting with a shaman drum, steel tongue drum, and Tibetan singing bowls.

At present, I own three singing bowls of varying sizes: 6 inches, 4.3 inches, and 3.5 inches. My preferred one is the largest, which I use every morning. It appears to be hand-hammered, whereas the smaller bowls are considerably thicker and may have been machine-made. The smallest bowl produces a less impressive sound and I am unable to make it sing, but it may serve as a useful accent when played together with a set of bowls. If you intend to purchase only one bowl, it’s best to avoid the smallest one.

The video that I uploaded on YouTube was a training video, and for the first time, I utilized two cameras. The audio was separately recorded by the Zoom 5 recorder with the SSH-6 shotgun microphone. As a result, I had to learn how to create and edit a multicam clip in Final Cut Pro X, which is my editing software. I am endeavoring to keep my aging brain active by learning new things.

The upcoming video in the sound healing series will feature a steel tongue drum, and will cover five or perhaps six reasons why you should consider playing a tongue drum.
