In this video, Dr. Cabral delves into the significance of creating a new identity or version of ourselves in order to progress in life. He stresses the importance of regularly assessing our lives and being open to making necessary changes. It’s common for individuals to face ongoing challenges and setbacks, which often lead to a negative cycle. Dr. Cabral asserts that breaking free from this cycle requires a shift in our identity and the beliefs we hold about ourselves.

Our current identity strongly influences our actions and the outcomes we experience. He provides compelling examples of how people’s actions align with their beliefs, ultimately shaping their results. To achieve different and more desirable outcomes, we must transform our identity and develop unwavering belief in our ability to attain those desired results.

Dr. Cabral also explores the impact of childhood experiences and societal influences on our identity formation. He encourages viewers to take ownership of their identity and make deliberate choices about who they aspire to become. By consciously aligning our beliefs and actions, we can cultivate personal growth and achieve success.

Individuals are unlikely to engage in actions that are not aligned with their identity. This highlights the crucial connection between beliefs and actions. To truly thrive, it is essential to align our beliefs with the actions we take, setting the stage for personal transformation and ultimate fulfillment.

The main lessons for me is to slow down and assess my life to stay on track. It may be easy to lose a view of a big picture. I keep myself pretty busy. I believe that I am growing and self improving, but I have tendency to grow rather by making small changes and by evolution. It took me 5 years to switch my career from science to photography. No overnight changes!

Personal takeaways

One of the key takeaways for me from this video is the importance of slowing down and taking the time to assess my life in order to stay on track. With a busy schedule, it’s easy to lose sight of the bigger picture. While I believe that I am constantly growing and improving myself, I tend to do so through incremental changes and gradual evolution. For example, it took me five years to make the career switch from science to photography. I understand that true transformations rarely happen overnight.

I have a strong inclination to learn new skills and explore different activities. In terms of fitness, in just recent two years I started to exercise with Indian clubs, Persian meels, and the steel mace. When it comes to meditation, I’ve been practicing sound healing and Thai Chi ruler exercises. I’ve also incorporated trampoline rebounding, vibration plate workouts, and red light therapy into my routine for recovery purposes. However, despite these endeavors, there are moments when I still feel a sense of stagnation, as if I’m not truly experiencing anything entirely new in my life. This prompts me to question whether I need a more revolutionary approach.

Overall, the video has inspired me to reflect on my continuous growth and the methods I employ to bring about change. While small steps and gradual evolution have served me well in the past, I now contemplate the possibility of embracing a more revolutionary mindset to inject fresh energy and novelty into my life. Perhaps it’s time to step out of my comfort zone.
