I love kettlebells. They have been growing in popularity as a fitness exercise in USA over the last two decades or so. I used to work with kettlebells during my college years in 1970s in Poland.
In 2011 I rediscovered kettlebells and included them into my fitness training. Currently, I have four weights of kettlebells.
- 25lb, my first one and the lightest one. I am using it for warmups and test some new exercises.
- two 50lb kettlebells for my basic workout
- 62lb competition kettlebell. I am using it in a backyard. I wouldn’t like to drop that monster on my floor inside.
- 18lb, a baby kettlebell used mostly as a photography prop.
The last two kettlebells with a nice mat finish are often featured in my photo sessions. Here is a slide show with some pictures. They are included in my stock photography portfolio.
I ordered all my kettlebells from Amazon – CAP and Lifeline brands. In one case I experienced problems with damages during shipping. A delivery driver may be not ready to handle such a small, but very heavy package.
I see that Onnit.com has a nice line of kettlebells including their primal and legend bells if you like more fancy stuff.
Nowadays, you can find tons of information, tutorials and kettlebell workouts on internet and youtube. I didn’t managed to count all kettlebells related books available on Amazon. I started with The Ultimate Kettlebell Workbook by Dave Randolph and I am still using that book today.
I have other new fitness gear in my backyard which will appear in my future posts.
