As a self employed photographer I am working mostly at home spending 90% of my time with a computer. Every 1-2 hours I am making a break and go to my backyard for a short workout, anything from 10-30 minutes. Here is a list of fitness gear I am using on my patio, sidewalk or lawn.
- kettlebells from 18 to 62 lb
- steel clubs, 2 x 15 lb by Synergee
- steel mace, 10 lb, by Synergee
- Swiss ball
- Bosu ball
- slam ball
- Indian clubs, wooden clubs are used mostly for photography, while for actual everyday workout I prefer cheap plastic clubs by Ultimate Body Press (both 2 lb)
- heavy jumping rope by Crossrope, usually, used on a thick yoga mat on my sidewalk
- resistance bands by Undersun Fitness
- Stamina outdoor fitness power tower for pull outs, dips, pushups, or just hanging. It is has been standing in a shadow of trees in my backyard for perhaps 10 years.
- mini trampoline by Bellicon, the newest addition.
I also consider an exercise taking care of my garden and backyard. It provides endless workout opportunities and challenge. My backyard is big enough to do some jogging or walking around with kettlebell or steel clubs. Stairs leading from a backyard to a patio provide more opportunities for running or walking with some weights.
Sometimes, my photography work gives me pretty good workout when shooting fitness gear or paddling boats in my backyard or driveway. Recently, I was shooting a series of self portraits in my home studio, some with kettlebells, steel clubs of slam ball. That photoshoot was exhausting!
